Put the saddle on the pony, get your ducks in a row for it’s time again for the SSLA Annual Conference.
This year we moved a few valleys over to Amicalola Falls State Park Lodge.
We have 40 rooms reserved, each one with a north Georgia mountain view.
Visit them at their website gastateparks.org/AmicalolaFalls

There is an impressive list of speakers (see below) ranging from germs and worms, tax information for llama and alpaca farms, public relations llamas, to what projects you can do to make use of all your fiber.

Barbara Johansen is once again in charge of the fiber room and plans to talk about what your fiber is worth, will teach spinning and repair spinning wheels. Vicki Sundberg and Tori Howk will demonstrate Nuno felting and a quick-felting project. There will be some small triangle looms and “real” looms for sale, and a camelid yard sale and fiber sale. (Bring your stuff.)

Mary Lou Hassell and her crew have assembled another great program for the youth, starting with the first SSLA Youth Pack Trial. This is a basic PLTA Pack Trial for youth only. For more details, or to sign up contact Kurt Pihera at kpihera@aol.com or 770-893-2376.
Visit the PLTA website at packllama.org for more information.
There will also be youth craft and other classes to keep things interesting.
(Please note on the registration form that youth prices for the conference depend on age of youth and number in a room- call Karen for details.)

A note to the membership…..
We may need to borrow some pack systems for the youth pack trial and may need volunteers to accompany the youth under 18 along the trail. Get in touch with Kurt Pihera for contributions or volunteering.

Louise Meadows is in charge of the raffle this year.
PLEASE send her all your donations or contact her at gsalm2005@yahoo.com or 706-855-7985, or she WILL call you…….

The lodge is situated in the middle of the north Georgia mountains and has one of the most beautiful waterfalls around. The rooms are very modern and each has a wonderful view of the north Georgia mountains. Saturday we’lll have talks and demonstrations, the annual SSLA meeting and the banquet, with more fun on Sunday.

Sign up quickly…
We only have 40 rooms.
I know it’s late, so do it now….
