The Walking fleece will be first thing Saturday morning. This is your chance to show off those fleeces without having to shear and to get a scorecard back with the results that you can keep for future reference. Those of you showing in performance can participate too. Although the walking fleece and performance classes will be taking place at the same time, llamas and alpacas will see the judge at their convenience during the allotted period of time. An ALSA sanctioned Alpaca halter show will be held following the walking fleece classes.
NEW for 2010
We will be showing in a NEW covered arena and stalled in a NEW barn. The arena is right next to a main entrance to fairgrounds so we will be getting lots of exposure. The stalls will be horse stalls. Solid wood walls with wire panels at the top so you can see in. The doors slide. The stall floors are concrete. Bring your own bedding. Since this is a fair with lots of people trying to go the aisles management will NOT allow us to put panels in the aisles.
As always we need sponsors and volunteers. Entry forms, class list and sponsorship forms are attached. NEW for 2010..forms can be filled out on your computer and submitted by email. However, until your check has been received your animals are not officially entered. Funds must be received before the start of the show. Forms are also available on the SSLA website.
There will be the traditional Saturday evening meal for participants and family. Be sure to sign up on the entry form.
